Kathryn (Katy) Parker joined Summit in the fall of 2024 to serve as the third member of our Lower Elementary teaching team. Katy has the unique background of having taught or assisted in Montessori classrooms for students from toddlers through high school. She most recently served as Lower Elementary Lead Teacher in Santa Barbara, CA, where she has worked in various capacities since 2010.
Prior to her time in the Lower Elementary classroom, Katy served as a Montessori Early Childhood Lead Teacher for 6 years and as an Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher for 5 years.
Katy received her B.A. in Human Development (Early Childhood concentration) from the California State University in East Bay, CA. She earned her Montessori Early Childhood credential from the Montessori Teacher Education Center in San Francisco in 2017 and completed her Adolescent Training through the North American Montessori Teachers Association. Katy is currently completing her Lower Elementary training at the METTC (Montessori Educators’ Teacher Training Collaborative) in Lexington, MA.
