Bridget Parmenter

Library Specialist

Bridget comes to Summit Montessori with 20 years of experience in teaching and working in Early Childhood and Early Intervention programs, ten of which were in a Reggio Emilia inspired Zero to Three Program at John Hancock Child Care Center. JHCCC was a state of the art, play based program in which children stayed with their primary teachers from 8 weeks old to preschool. During her time there, Bridget was able to travel to The Boulder Journey School in Boulder Colorado for Reggio Emilia training and used her knowledge to build engaging homelike learning environments. During her years of teaching, Bridget fell in love with using puppets to help develop early language skills and trained other teachers on the benefits of this tool. Many of those puppets are still with her and are happy to have a new home in the library.

Bridget has also worked as a bookseller at independent local bookshops for many years and has extensive book knowledge. She has woven these backgrounds together to offer thoughtful, whimsical and joyful library services to the students here at Summit.

Bridget is a graduate from Lesley University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies as well as a postgraduate from Boston University with a certificate in Business Photography.

Bridget’s personal photography was shown at The Danforth Annual Juried Exhibit, June 2022. Many of the Summit website photos and staff/student headshots have been taken by Bridget.
